You might have bumped into her London's street pieces: the colourful, joyful wall near Haggerston Park and several bits around Brick Lane. In any case, if you have seen an Anna Laurini's piece, you won't confuse it with anything else.
Her signature style consists of a mix of bright, textured acrylic colours and merges soft shapes with hard edges in a an ever akin, but never same, whole. Anna's works of art are clearly inspired by abstract expressionism and also reminds us a bit of synthetic cubism. She draws inspiration from the old to create a completely new kind of abstraction, modern, unseen and intense.
Her canvases are loving encounters of men and women, whose words fluctuate on the surface; sometimes they are questions, sometimes statements and some other times melancholic desires.
Anna has studied at the Art Student League in New York and at Central Saint Martins in London, and she has received commission from many privates in both cities.
Throughout her career, Anna has always employed a variety of media, including videos, collages, drawings and stencils. Her continuous itch to experiment drove her practice into yet another field, as she has recently started working with fabric: her leitmotivs are perfectly translated into simple, yet powerful designs over t-shirts and sweatshirts.
Perfect for both, man and women, her garments are the last MEOKO discovery, proper and wearable works of art.
Each is characterized by her dearest bright, even fluorescent colours, applied with the usual neat and tidy brush strokes. Besides, every garment is entirely hand painted, which means that every single design is unique.
For this Hidden Treasure 'episode', MEOKO collaborates with Anna to give you the chance of winning two of her hand-painted t-shirts.

London's festival behemoth, South West Four, has become somewhat of an institute for the city's dance music loving inhabitants. Originally conceived in 2003 and launched at the-still-trusted-home of Clapham Common, SW4 has built up a reputation as the original, inner city urban based festival, ruling the August bank holiday weekend, year after year.
And after celebrating their 10th anniversary year in 2013, the SW4 crew have swung back into action, with stunning world class line ups and high quality production values and crisp sound being the order of the day(s) once again.
Based across 25th / 26th of August, Saturday sees the likes of Above & Beyond, Danny Avila, Loco Dice, Tale Of Us, Tiga & Audion playing a rare back to back set, sash, Paul Kalkbrenner and Seth Troxler and Jamie Jones to name but a few of the stellar cast. Sunday sees a cross pollination of styles, including drum and bass from the likes of Marcus Intalex, warehouse techno from Boddika, bumpy house from Catz 'N Dogz, Maya Jane Coles, Shadow Child and straight up techno from Marco Carola, Deadmau5, Eric Prydz and Andy C headline the festival on the last day.

Fieldtrip is a debut Music & Arts Festival landing on the stunning Yorkshire Moors between 15th and 17th August 2014. Much like it’s tea drinking inhabitants and their world famous hospitality, Fieldtrip promises a cozy and independent atmosphere, offering lots of local goodness in a lush green site, with panoramic views of the moors and just a short drive from Leeds City centre.
“Fieldtrip Festival is all about one thing and that's having fun from start to finish” says Danny Savage, part of the two-man team that devised the Fieldtrip idea. “There are a number of reasons we opted for a smaller sized festival. Firstly, it’s our launch year so we didn't want to run before we could walk. Secondly, the best festivals I got to (and there has been quite a few!) are the intimate ones the ones where you end up leaving with a new set of mates and when you can embrace every aspect of the event personally. And that's what we are aiming for with Fieldtrip. We’ve put huge attention to detail into all aspects and we don't want anything to go unnoticed or ‘get lost in the crowds” he says of Fieldtrip’s ethos and aesthetic.
Compact and cute, this bijoux affair focuses on fun & participation, taking inspiration from the promoters’ world festival travels, distilling them into one beautifully boutique weekend. There will be cider stalls, a handpicked selection of amazing street food, live comedy and kamikaze karaoke, mud wrestling and unique little habitats to play in, craft stalls and acrobats as well as rap battles, a secret cinema and oodles of locally endorsed real ales from Yorkshires many breweries.
“There’s going be a lot of quirky little pop-up arenas and unique attractions for everyone to soak up when they’re not in the music arenas” explains partner Liam Donnachie. “We’re not really down with the 'everyone has to wear this on the last day’ or ‘everyone has to join in this activity’ kind of vibe. It's more a case of there is gonna be plenty of things for you to be getting on with music, arts, live performances, stand up comedy, mud wrestling, dodge ball and we've even been chatting about getting a ‘tinder’ tent up and running!
With the modest Fieldtrip attracting a super-intimate, 1500 capacity crowd, everyone is going to be more than busy. The camping soiree puts a large emphasis firmly on attention to detail, with a wide variety of live & electronic music spread across 7 specially designed arenas, each one having its own themed environment, to make it a much more inclusive and magical experience. There will be plenty of participatory games, performance artists and in general, no expense spared on production. It’s the little things that matter sometimes Fieldtrip remains a feel good weekend that harks back to a simpler, more fun and engaging time (before the corporate world ruled the festival plain).
As well as a lovingly hand picked selection of local musicians, brands, DJs & performers, there will be a smattering of international talent to really finish the festival in style. The music ethos is about quality, not what’s hot at the minute or trendy and cool the festival sees it their responsibility to provide you with a fresh selection of musical fare, with a new favourite band, or DJ awaiting you at the end of the weekend. “For me the best part of a festival is walking away having experienced new music from artists you've not heard of before” confirms Danny. “To stumble across a new act that you love is what festivals are all about. So with that in mind, we’ve covered a lot of genres across live and electronic music so I’m sure everyone will be satisfied musically and hopefully surprised as well.
Fieldtrip is a fun-filled, friendly affair that brings together the best creative and cultural offerings Leeds has to offer, delivered with love; understanding and a welcoming smile on its fact. This is one summer trip you definitely don’t want to miss. In the words of the festival themselves: “Its like-minded people who just love to have fun”… now then, where do we sign up?

London Warehouse Events, better known as LWE have spent the last 3 years putting on some of London’s most cutting edge events, establishing themselves as kings of the warehouse scene. The combination of unusual locations, bespoke production, killer sound and an obsessive attention to detail has meant prominent success. Delivering over 34 blistering, sold out shows across the capital as well as putting on their first sold out Brixton Academy alongside RAM Records. But probably their biggest success story was their New Years Day event at the amazing, grade 1 listed building, Tobacco Dock with some huge artists on the bill. It was truly a moment in club land that many people won’t forget. This time round on the 9th of August, the event coming up at Tobacco Dock won't be any less memorable...
We welcome one of London’s hottest promoters, Percolate, to host the newly discovered Vaults. First up we have a duo of female DJ's that are taking the house scene apart right now, Dinky and Kate Simko. Portuguese disco head Social Disco Club rounds off the Percolate guests, bringing with them a record crate that is guaranteed to bring the summer vibes. In support are residents Krywald and Farrer aka the Percolate DJ's who will be warming up proceedings.
Metro Area will headline and round off the full lineup in the Percolate room. With their influence reaching into every corner of electronic music, their ability to arrange the best elements of disco in perfect synchronicity and untouchable originality has given them a timeless sound. Summer In The City will be an extremely rare opportunity to see these pioneering musicians play in the UK.
LWE will host the main room and have handpicked a selection of the hottest names in house and techno – a blistering blend of classic summer sounds. We’ll have old school pedigree with a new twist in the form of Groove Armada and DJ Sneak, plus it’s LWE debut for is Lee Foss, who continues to soar on his ascent through the ranks both as a solo artist and a quarter of Hot Natured. Anja Schneider, an LWE and TD favourite, returns to tear up the main room and rounding things off are legendary London party starters and hot of the back of their debut compilation on Defected, krankbrother Mathew Jonson and recent game changers Waze & Odyssey.
This time, down in the car-park, they have called on Damian Lazarus to play host and he’s assembled an almighty array of his Crosstown Rebels. Calling on Subb- An who is set to release his debut album on the label this year; and has a mercurial ear for breaking down the barriers between “can” and “can’t” with his live sets. Watergate resident and Cocolino Records founder SIS joins the Rebel Rave; bringing groovy house and techno that’ll sit perfectly alongside Clive Henry in a bunker that represents the best of the current Crosstown Rebels roster. Not forgetting the incredible Mathew Jonson who will bring one of his legendary live sets to the depths of Tobacco Dock.

Half Baked Records came to life in early 2013 as part of the HBF Agency, representing love for deep house sunday-afternoon events. The record label was created in order to complete the Half Baked platform in the modern music industry and as an output for the music of the Half Baked residents and international guests.
Half Baked Records releases on vinyl only as a symbol of their passion for underground dance music and the belief in the physical persistency and value of the wax format. The philosophy is as simple as demanding: bringing innovation & playfulness through great producers of the underground scene, releasing their music internationally while operating as a "family".
