As the Ibiza season fast approaches its opening week, anticipation is beginning to build up and the island’s major promoters and clubs put the finishing touches to their opening fiestas.
Of all the many parties that occur in the opening weeks in Ibiza, one of the most highly-anticipated is DC10/Circo Loco. Without a doubt one of the island’s most lauded parties, Circo Loco has already become the stuff of folklore with last year’s closing party probably their busiest yet.
In fact, it would be safe to say that the entire 2011 season at the world-famous Monday party was their biggest so far. As the world’s house scene flourished, so too did Circo Loco with hundreds of thousands of ravers walking into the former aircraft hangar between May and October. Add to this some of the world’s top DJs, both new and old, gracing the hallowed decks at the party and it’s easy to understand why the brand has such a great reputation.
So the stage is set for this year’s opening party, one which will no doubt feature a ridiculously huge line-up – just like last year’closing party which read like a dream team of DJs.
While the line-up for the 2012 opening party has yet to be announced, a bit of detective work suggests that new residents Soul Clap are sure to be on the bill. Meanwhile, French trio Dyed Soundorom, Dan Ghenacia and Shonky are also likely to make an appearance at the party. German DJ Cassy is also a surefire bet, along with longstanding resident Tania Volcano.
And what would a DC10 party be without Jamie Jones and his Hot Creations family – most of whom spent many a Monday at the club as ravers before they hit the big time. Richy Ahmed, Lee Foss and possibly Robert James will be in attendance along with their Visionquest counterparts, Seth Troxler and co. Maceo Plex rocked DC10 last year on several occasions, paving the way for a return this May and Art Department will no doubt be joining their friends at the party which starts at midday and runs all the way into the early hours in true DC10 style.
With just four weeks to go, tickets are already flying out so make sure you get yours before it’s too late. It’s set to be one of the biggest and best opening parties.
