PREVIEW: FRRC by Ricardo Villalobos x OFF Week

In less than a month, thousands of music lovers will flock to Barcelona for another incredible week of electronic dance music in the form of Sónar. The multi-location festival is now in it’s 24th year (Can you believe it started in 1994?) and will see some of the worlds most established DJ’s play in the sweet sun of the Catalonia capital.
MEOKO has already covered some of the top parties for the week, but there is one small matter to attend to before we fly back home - Ricardo Villalobos’ FFRC party, hosted by Indigo Raw (IR) on Sunday 19th June.
Seeing Ricardo strut his stuff at El Monasterio, a beautiful old monastery tucked away in the Poble Espanyol, will be a fantastic way to finish off our trip. This is a unique spot with amazing city views - the perfect backdrop to the groovy, latino wonk that the Chilean is admired for.
Sonja Moonear and Raum boss Dorian Paic, both peak time spinners in their own rights, will be on warm up duties, whilst I look forward to a cosy b2b from residents Nerone and Solimano.
Indeed there will be no Perlon party this year, so this might be the best chance to catch some high grade micro house at Sónar. Some tickets are still available on RA, with a backstage pass an option too, which allows access to a private bar and a chill out area.
Indigo Raw are putting on four other nights during the week at El Monasterio too, and this venue really is worth checking out if you cannot make it to FRRC. Maya Jane Coles, Ben Klock, Moodymann, Mandar, Archie Hamilton and DJ Koze are just a few of the names billed to play from the 14th June onwards.
See you in the sun!
