Hip east-end pleasure palace Dalston Superstore takes over the second stage for the Sunday at this year’s Lovebox Festival in Victoria Park, Hackney, with a great line-up of Lana Del Rey, Azari & III, Patrick Wolf and more. And to celebrate this Dalston Superstore have kindly provided us with a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky winner.
As Grace Jones headlines the mainstage, ably assisted by both Chic feat Nile Rodgers and New York’s The Rapture and Jodie Harsh brings her night Circus to the other side of town with Felix Da Housecat and Mika; there’s such a strong sense of disco and dance running throughout the entire day that even the pop acts smack of it.
Meanwhile, elsewhere in the festival two east London nights TrailerTrash and GutterSlut [httpss://www.facebook.com/events/448462018512530/] team up to co-host the dance tent. Having both built their reputation for being open to gays, straights, freaks, trannies, fashion kids, club kids, it seems only appropriate for them to bring the rather mixed musical delights of DJ Hell, Tiga, Ivan Smagghe and a “Special Disco Version” from former LCD Soundsystem members James Murphy and Pat Mahoney.
All you need to do to see all these fabulous acts and more is to answer this easy question…
What are Azari & III hungry for?

While purging his 25,000 strong vinyl collection last year Matthew B, aka Bushwacka! came across so many hidden gems and special records that he decided to team up with fellow long time DJ Richie Fingers and start a night dedicated to bringing these amazing tunes to the music lovers of the here and now.
It is roughly 25 years since the birth of Acid House and this night is very much centered on music from 1987-1990, which hugely influences everything we are listening to at the moment. In fact so much so that one could argue that production quality aside, we are all dancing to the same beat again.
This is the original house sound. The Thursday night vinyl based house music party featuring special guests each month. Having already welcomed Mr C and Evil Eddie Richards to play the first 2 events, this month’s special guest is Colin Dale. To call Colin Dale "legendary" is no over-estimation. Here is a DJ that has been one of London's most cutting edge DJ’s for over 20 years and still continues to surprise and marvel.

Hark back (if you can) to the August bank holiday 2008 and some of you may remember Eastern Electric’s somewhat epic two day festival. Showcasing the year’s most cutting edge dj’s, Live acts and promotions, the huge shindig said everything about the 2008 house and techno scene that needed to be said; giving East London a two day event to remember and securing their reputation as one of the best outfits around. Four years and twenty one crazy Eastern Electric parties later, the festival is back for 2012’s August Bank Holiday; this time with a line up that’s quite frankly frightening!
Working alongside Krankbrother, Black Atlantic, 2020 Vision, FOUND, Futureboogie and Return To The Future; the all day outdoor vibe will channel through moods such as the striking, bass rumbling sounds of Joy Orbison to Julio Bashmore, whose fusion of new house meets bass have seen him dominate the eyes and ears of many this year. Krankbrother are calling in the hugely talented Nina Kraviz alongside disco, funk ambassador Tensnake for their stage while Eastern Electrics themselves host Jamie Jones, Maceo Plex and an indulgently delicious selection of the hottest acts this side of the moon! Deep house originator Kerri Chandler will make an appearance, as will Pan-Pot, Trickski, Crazy P, Bill Patrick, Infinity Inc, Greg Wilson and the most talked about Live act on the scene right now, Amirali. Too many names to mention – take a look at the extensive line-up and you’ll understand why Eastern Electrics Festival 2012 is going to be one of the best and most sought after festival dates this summer!
And the best news? MEOKO have 2 x VIP passes to win! Entitling you to fast track entry and VIP area passes, you’ll take full advantage of the dedicated food and bar service, VIP toilets and a unique tent of music provided by Return, To The Future and TRIX. Doesn’t get much better than that really does it? To be in with a chance of winning, all you have to do is tell us which DJ or live act you are most looking forward to hearing. Comments to be placed below... The winner will be chosen at random and announced on Friday 20th July. MEOKO will also be there with bells (and sunblock) on!
