Dasha Redkina is a true artist in every sense of the word. With a background studying Sound & Film, she has collaborated as a visual artist with the likes of Petre Inspirescu, Soundwalk Collective and Nastya – always favouring the organic aspects of mediums like film and vinyl as an outlet. As a DJ, her affinity with collecting vinyl over the years has given rise to eclectic sets fine-tuned to her contemplative palate, drifting between new and old, always focussing on the experimental and ambient. Despite her Russian heritage, it was at London warehouse parties in 2007 that the young artist made her first forays behind the decks. One year later she was gracing parties in Berlin, Ibiza, Barcelona and beyond, spreading knowledge gained through her passion for crate digging with hungry crowds wherever she went, and even sharing the stage with fellow vinyl purist and techno legend Ricardo Villalobos. Since her return to Moscow, she can be found spinning at ARMA17 club, where she is a resident. Marking the 82nd chapter in our mix series, what better way to introduce you to her sound than from an exclusive recording from one of her sets: an hour of deep soothing house and sophisticated techno taken from within the walls ARMA17 itself.
