WYS! & MEOKO Present: UP Festival London Showcase at fabric

As summer draws closer, the MEOKO calendar begins to fill with various events and partnerships across Europe. This summer a new concept and musical movement will take place in Prague, Czech Republic (11th-13th May), and it goes by the name of UP Festival. A 72-hour journey of discovery via a wide spectrum of sounds and artistic measures. The sole purpose of this project is to drive diversity and new realms in to the already rich culture in arguably one of Europe’s most beautiful countries. An open table of opportunity for artists to bring forward their interpretations of sound, exposing to hungry ears.

UP Final MArch

However, it would not be fair to celebrate the longer days and endless summer nights without something much closer to home. On the 23rd of April we partner up with one of the longest serving Sunday parties on the London circuit, WetYourSelf. Supplying you with a first taste of the UP Festival concept, alongside residents Jacob Husley and Peter Pixzel. Prague meets Farringdon, as we take over room one at fabriclondon for a fine selection of records.

Heading the bill is a touch of class from France, as Yoyaku heavyweights Varhat and Janeret present you with one of their prestigious b2b sets. Recent times have seen the light of this effective combination, a duo that present similar energy and atmospheres. Layers of dreamy dub techno, with a certain familiar sound from the two artists will be sure to set well on the system on this Sunday. Chemistry that must be witnessed, and an insight of what can be expected from them when they tell their story this May in Prague.

Joining them on the night is UP Festival resident Bruno Curtis, an artist who continues to build a solid reputation for himself in his base city, Prague and now plans to expand his horizons; rightly so. Born in New Zealand, but it was his experiences when travelling that fuelled his fire for his current sound of deep melodic grooves with a minimalistic outlook. An opportunity for London to discover this raw talent, come and see for yourself.

See you on the dancefloor.

RPMM Festival in Porto Announces Full Line Up

Porto-Portugal-Old-City-472119842 6001x4001 preview

Picture this: a cool drink in hand, good vibes all around, and chilled electronic beats in a beautiful 12th century UNESCO Heritage Site along the Douro River. Are you sold yet? Well, you will be when you hear the full line-up for RPMM Festival in Porto.

The new festival will be hitting many different venues in the historic city centre with a series of day and night parties over the 28th and 29th July. The festival is not only full of big names, but also will show the brilliance of Porto's local talent, party scene, and general relaxed atmosphere. It's also not a bad excuse to over-indulge in some famous Port Wine....infact, it would be rude not too!

Already announced are big names such as Âme, Guy Gerber and Francesca Lombardo, but this next announcement is a gamechanger. The HUGE names added today include scottish party starters Jackmaster and Jasper James, along with Matt Tolfrey, Margaret Dygas, Barac, D’Julz, Mella Dee, Patrice Scott, Jasper James, Matthias Tanzmann, Art Department, Death on the Balcony, Kenny Glasgow, Nitin, Robin Ordell, Geddes, Varhat, Alexis Raphael and many more.

Half Baked, Ibiza Voice, Keep On Dancing, MusiK@ll and You Are We are all hosting stages and after parties at various venues around Porto, which means - we are naturally delighted that we get to host a stage among such big names and friends within the industry! Yep, we have partnered up with RPMM Global and are hosting a stage at this groundbreaking festival, bringing some exciting sounds to Portugal.

After careful plaqnning, we very excited to announce the line up for MEOKO stage. We're bringing Barac, Joseph Williams, Varhat, Cleymoore and Geddes to the table.

Headlining is one of our favourites -  Romanian Barac uses careful melodies sparingly. His sound has changed from dance floor bangers to enchanting and spiritual music meant for more than just dancing.

Varhat is a very exciting name in the French scene. He produces minimalist tracks under a few different names, and decides which track goes under which alias depending on what the track "communicates" rather than what it sounds like.

These guys will be joined by one of London's most up and coming talents Joseph Williams, Berlin-based Cleymoore, and techno pioneer Geddes. We cannot WAIT to see them all.

RPMM 2nd wave

The line up of over 50 local and international artists will be joined by mind-blowing visual artist Jonny TV, who has created epic sets for the likes of Primal Scream and Chemical Brothers, will also be at the festival making sure all your senses experience bliss.

Porto as a place is also a magical event to come for in itself. For collector enthusiasts, there's a wide selection of record shops, and for those who love a party there's a vast bar scene and endless clubs/ live music venues. For the travellers amongst you there's beautiful history, walking, and stunning views. RPMM is made to suit everybody, and one thing's for sure, you won't get bored!

So what are you waiting for? Buy your tickets for RPMM now and we'll see you there!

Third Phase Announced for UP Festival Prague

If you're into dance music (and if you aren't, you're in the wrong place) and looking for a new boutique festival to jet off to this summer, look no further. Cheap beer, underground sounds, enough sun for a tan (or burn)? Surely nobody can say no to that.

An unmissable new musical movement is coming to beautiful Prague (where beer is cheaper than water) this year courtesy of UP Festival. The event will provide 72 hours of pure celebration and peace, with mind-blowing light and sound thanks to over 50 artists on four unique stages (one indoor and three outdoor). The festival are also collaborating with digital media studios for audiovisual performances, so be ready to have your mind BLOWN.

As we're the festival’s official media partner, and as we do LOVE to treat you lot, we're here to give you all the exclusive content in the run-up to UP. Already announced are underground legends Ricardo Villalobos, Sonja Moonear and Magda, and this third phase announcement certainly raises the excitement.

The third phase announcement reveals exciting names such as Vera, Francesco Del Garda, Gescu, Ferro, Fernando Costantini, Vlada, Hamid and Clovis.

Resident Advisor name LA native Clovis, an exciting new line-up addition, as “one of the foremost underground DJs to rise from the city in the past decade”. As a producer, his artistic investigations into all forms of world sounds make for an ever-changing listening experience, making him one the must-sees of the festival.

Another addition to the line-up is Gescu, who’s sure to bring the festival new levels. Gescu is a constant on the Romanian electronic scene, but also travels far and wide to treat the world to his faultless mixing style.

But it’s also a fantastic occasion to familiarize yourself with the local scene: to name a few of them, DJ Schwa, Yan & Alfred Czital of Harmony Rec. spin all shades of dubby techno; Fatty M is a local hero that brought the likes of Derrick May and San Proper to Prague with his Kom!ks warehouse parties; em ju es aj si is into the dark Berlin techno (based in Prague) that he helped bring to Czech Republic with his Polygon parties; and Bruno Curtis is the founder of Round UP.

UP Festival will take place over three days from May 11-13th 2018. It will take place at Vystaviste Holesovice, one of the oldest landmarks in Prague. You may as well book for the whole week so you can explore all the incredible monuments and museums around the area.....or just the bars and clubs (did we mention The Czech Republic consumes more beer per capita than any other country).

Tickets are already on second release through the official UP Festival website and Resident Advisor.
